As a Chef de Cuisine you will coordinate, plan, participate, and supervise the production, preparation and presentation of food for a unit. You will be responsible for providing a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products. The Chef de Cuisine supervises and participates in the production, preparation and presentation of all foods for unit as assigned by the Executive Chef to ensure that a consistent quality product is produced which conforms to all established standards. You will interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline as appropriate. Additionally, you will perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Kitchen’s food production area to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; long-range strategic planning for outlet operation.
Assist in the planning and development of menus and recipes, ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration, utilize creative menu planning to minimizing waste.
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control.
Ensure that sanitation standards as set forth by LifeWorks/Aramark, local, state, and federal regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Maintain control systems which will assure quality and portion consistency, monitor food shipments to ensure they meet established purchasing specifications as well and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality.
Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met, coordinate menu tastings and pre-meal meetings to educate staff on food taste and preparation methods, attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments; interact directly with guests to ascertain satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will possess two to three years of post high school education, preferably a culinary degree, and two to three years in a related position with this company or other organization(s). Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems. Requires oral, reading and written communication skills.
