ARAMARK Global Procurement Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania



Reporting to the AVP (Director), Global Procurement, the Global Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, reduction of total cost of ownership, risk management and day-to-day execution. The Global Procurement Manager drives sourcing programs with a focus on Efficiency, Effectiveness (most optimal Total Delivered Cost), Commercialization, Sustainability, Supplier Diversity and Business Continuity. S/he is also a key contributor to the creation and implementation of category strategies for selected categories or sub categories of goods and/or services with the support of the AVP and/or Procurement Director, including, but not limited to, the execution of all elements of the sourcing strategy (7 Step Sourcing Process, RFI, RFQ, Negotiation, Contracting, Managing).

The Global Procurement Manager develops and is resposible to keep market expertise current for the categories s/he is respoisbile for as well as provides guidance to the business on markets and category risks and opportunities.

This position is based in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute Strategic Sourcing Methodology (Seven Steps)

  • Manage supplier relationships, including strategic suppliers and supplier development

  • Perform market assessments to identify current and future capabilities within the supply base.

  • Provide market intelligence, cost analysis and benchmark studies on his/her area of responsibility

  • Utilize Global Strategic Sourcing processes to identify, evaluate and select new suppliers.

  • Negotiate and finalize supplier contracts, including Service Level Agreements

  • Identify and initiate productivity projects/improved cost efficiencies for the category.

  • Prepare budget & strategic plan for are of responsibility.

  • Report monthly forecasts, inflation and productivity results

  • Work collaboratively with the Category team, the Business Units, Culinary, Operations and Consumer Insights teams to identify, define and align on the mid to long term (minimum 3 years) requirements for the category that drive consumer satisfaction, productivity and innovation.

  • Develop category sourcing strategy in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Support Source-to-Pay and audit processes

  • Work collaboratively across the Supply Chain organization in support of the development and implementation of the broader transformation platform, including design structure, SKU rationalization, globalization, and innovation.

  • Support local Supply chain teams in resolving supplier issues - e.g. quality issues, material availability, exceptional charges due to extraordinary requests to supplier, etc.

  • Support regional business units with ad-hoc requests requiring supplier/market intelligence.

  • Actively search for innovation ideas of all kinds within the supply base and communicate to business teams.

  • Actively support requests for new material development (innovation, productivity, etc.) through providing recommendations and guidance on sourcing options and then sourcing materials as required by the project team.


Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of continuous procurement experience in both, leading buying categories and strategic sourcing in large scale organizations and large amounts of spend.

  • Must have experience in conducting comprehensive supplier analysis and screening, analyzing supplier proposals and using decision-making tools/models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to support the buying teams in negotiations and facilitate award recommendations.

  • Accomplished in working within a matrix environment, build strong cross-functional and cross-regional relationships.

  • Must have solid coaching and influencing skills.

  • The ability to develop and apply strategy, as well as flawlessly execute on the day-to-day tactical requirements.

  • A strong acumen in strategic sourcing, with extensive negotiations experience.

  • An influential leader with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • An innovative approach and collaborative style, with the ability to establish strong relationships and navigate across all functions of the organization.

  • Excellent computer and analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Being a self-starter and very results oriented.

  • Multi-lingual a plus.


  • Must be willing to travel approximately 5-10 % of her/his time.


  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.
