Senior Business Analyst – Data Steward, IT (Band 6)

Position Summary

A Material Master standard is being developed for the Product Data of the Aramark enterprise.

This role will have responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Material Master at Aramark Corporation comprised of Product Data from various sources that will come together in the Aramark Master Data Governance (MDG) platform. The individual will design and develop workflows needed to ensure the various data sources meet standards and have the consistency needed to be included in the Material Master.

The person in this role will become a Subject Matter Expert in the area of Product Data, including, but not limited to: Packaging Standards, Nutritional Data, and Allergens.

Scope of Role

  • Oversight and administration of the Material Master to ensure data is being maintained to the standards set by Master Data Governance.

  • Will be responsible for documenting the current state of the Product Data and determining if it follows the latest standard. If changes are deemed necessary, this person will obtain alignment with the various stakeholders. These stakeholders include, system owners, supply chain management, culinary, point of sale and operational teams.

  • Understanding the Operational impacts of changes is a must. In general, data assessments will be via existing queries and reports, but the ability to write ad-hoc queries and investigate anomalies will be a portion of the activity. Communication with various groups and users that consume the enterprise data is critical part of the role.

  • Candidate will work primarily with various system Subject Matter Experts (SME) to resolve any issues including, but not limited to, stake holder groups, IT team members, and Line of Business representatives.

  • This resource will be entering data via existing user interfaces or writing scripts that will update data directly into the production database.

  • Testing of changes and scripts in a Quality Assurance (QA) environment will also be a responsibility.

  • Level of impact for this role is enterprise-wide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document possible features / enhancements that would add value to users’ experience.

  • Create and update User Stories.

  • Acceptance testing to confirm software satisfies all requirements documented in the user story.

  • Collect and document ARAMARK Data standards.

  • Create queries and views, dump data, and design reports.

  • Conduct data analysis in support of decision making.

  • Collecting documentation on ARAMARK data standards to be used in the evaluation of enterprise data.

  • Providing specialized analytical support and conducting ad-hoc studies as needed.

  • Builds and maintains strong working knowledge of the various Data Domains and the applications that consume the data. Develops an understanding of the Food Service Industry and how the data standards drive value in the systems used to Operate and Account for these services.

  • Evaluates the technical feasibility of proposed solutions and impacts on the end users and their ability to utilize the various systems.

  • Contribute to a positive and fun working environment by supporting teammates and stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of progressive business analysis experience. Skills with MicroSoft SQL Server and ORACLE T-SQL are a must. Ability to export data from those tools into EXCEL, where formatting and updates will be made. Demonstrates ability in specification writing as well as complex flowcharting. Exceptional analytical abilities. Ability to translate and communicate raw data, statistical, analytical results, implications, and recommendations into clearly written document. Able to facilitate group discussions while documenting the agreements and conflicts. Attention to detail and results-oriented attitude. Strong communication skills: oral, written, and presentation. Expert understanding in the IT Process, serving as a resource to others providing technical leadership. Thrives on functioning independently with a minimum of supervision, and also in a team environment.

Additional Qualifications:

Communication skills demonstrated through writing of end-user guides or manuals. Experience with the using MS Office Tools - Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to be part of multiple projects and initiatives of varying size and complexity. Ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively cope with change. Ability to work well with staff across support, functional, and operational teams. Comfortable presenting findings in a small- to medium-sized group. Project management experience.

Qualifications:

  • You will need a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of progressive business analysis experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential, along with effective oral communication skills demonstrated through presentations and training, as well as written communication skills demonstrated through solution specification documentation, end-user guides or manuals, and other end-user communications.

  • Knowledge of functional areas of Human Resources is required; experience with or in Human Resources is desired.

  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS HR is highly preferred and/or administration experience with a human capital management system.

  • The ability to work daily with the Microsoft Office Suite, Internet (for research), and reporting tools is required.
