The Retail District Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating retail activities in order to deliver a finished product to customers within the various service areas in the park. You will identify quality vendors for the Colonial Williamsburg retail outlets while working with the leadership team to identify customers needs and trends. The Retail District Manager is responsible for multi-unit buying, receiving, and merchandising product, maintaining inventory levels in retail outlets and conducting periodic inventory count.

  • Merchandise Buying, Planning and Analysis - Works with the corporate retail team on the development of a retail merchandising strategy that considers the customer profile, classification, resource structure, major vendors and suppliers, fashion trends and pricing. Develops and achieves planned sales, gross margin, profit and shortage goals. Manages and controls open-to-buy program, ensures adequate stock levels and maintains healthy merchandise turnover levels. Analyzes Retail Pro sales reports and makes informed merchandise buying decisions that will result in the achievement of sales and profit goals. Identifies and maximizes fast selling product. Attends vendor retail shows to keep in step with new product and market trends. Explores new merchandising trends and vendors frequently. Negotiates with vendors and suppliers to ensure the most favorable terms and merchandise discounts. Participate in all corporate vendor and rebate programs.

  • Merchandising and Visual Presentation - Works with the Corporate Retail Visual Merchandising team to plan and implement merchandise floor plans. Works with Merchandise Buyer and Store Manager on a merchandise presentation that is coordinated and exciting and will effectively project and desired concept. Maintains the highest level of visual standards in all retail sales locations in accordance with "The Retail mangers Guide to Visual Merchandising".

  • Human Resource Management - Work with the Management Staff in the recruitment, hiring, training and development of retail store and warehouse staff. Comply with all Aramark Human Resources policies pertaining to EEOC, civil rights, handling of wrongful discharge claims, etc. Insure implementation of all product, customer service, and loss prevention training programs. Prepare and conduct all management and staff performance appraisals complete with both developmental and job specific goals and objectives. Monitor, coach and counsel as necessary. Develop and maintain positive employee relations through ongoing interaction and communication. Maintain open lines of communication. .

  • P&L Accountability – Maintain both payroll and non-payroll expenses in accordance with financial plan. Monitor and maintain inventory levels consistent with sale trend. Collaboration with on site management teams for driving sales.

  • Asset Protection – Maintains all audit programs designed to identify vulnerabilities and prevent losses. Ensures that all sales associates are trained utilizing "The Retail and Associates Guide to Loss Prevention". Oversees the physical inventory process including the prep, take, and reconciliation process.


Successful candidates will possess a bachelor's degree and 8-10 years industry experience in retail management, operations and/or buying.
