Supervises: Food Service Supervisors (Catering), Lead Waiter/Waitress (Catering), Waiter/Waitress (Catering)

Position: Catering Operations Supervisor

Job Summary: The Catering Operations Supervisor oversees all aspects of a catering event; including set up, food presentation, serving and cleanup while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service. Catering Operations Supervisors are also responsible for all aspects of supervision of catering staff including: training & coaching.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service oriented manner

  • Maintains constant communication with guests and on site contact to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded

  • Remains alert of complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction

  • Coordinates with other staff and departments to arrange for the delivery of requested services

  • Maintains constant contact with the kitchen staff to ensure complete effective communication between food production & food service

  • Oversee expediting of all catering events

  • Ensures all functions are set and staff is prepared and organized before required time on the BEO

  • Inspects all table place settings , including table linen, china, glass, silverware and condiments for correct placement & ensures that each element is clean, undamaged and attractive

  • Ensures proper setting of buffet tables and other food service tables in adherence with Aramark standards

  • Arranges for and ensures proper sequence of service for each event

  • Monitors catering team members to ensure all operating procedures are followed

  • Supervises clearing and post function clean up, garbage removal and waste tracking

  • Ensures all catering products, including alcohol are stored properly

  • Monitors staffing to ensure team are clocking in and out as per their schedule and taking required breaks

  • Ability to register and record temperature of food items upon arrival at catering venue

  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure uniform compliance of all staff members

  • Ensure staff are following safety rules, Aramark alcohol policies, etc.

  • Maintains clean and orderly back areas, pre-function areas and storage areas

  • Assures that all china, glassware, silverware, linen, etc. are returned to their proper locations after each event

  • Supervises the handling, storage & security of all catering service equipment, including catering vehicles and golf carts

  • Clearly projects the visions of the department and measures progress

  • Meticulously plans events with captains/leads to ensure execution is achieved at the highest level

  • Conducts regular meetings with the catering managers & catering director to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guests’ experience

  • Additional administrative duties as assigned by Director or Catering Operations Manager to facilitate catering events

  • Report all injuries immediately to your manager and/or supervisor

Additional Job Functions:

  • Cross-train in other areas as required by your manager

  • Work in other areas or departments as needed

  • Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the ARAMARK management team

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in English language, both spoken and written

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules

Minimum Education/Certification

  • High School Diploma/GED
