Position Summary:

The GBS Accounting Supervisor will work with the Director of Accounting and other GBS functional leaders in producing and developing monthly and other periodic financial reports and analyses that aid in effective historical accounting, financial planning, and performance evaluation of Aramark’s shared services operations. The Accounting Manager will also supervise certain specialized applications and processes within the GBS Accounts Payable operations, including duplicate payment analysis and recovery.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and execute the month-end close process, including all required journal entries, AP activity, payroll reporting, accruals and other activities for monthly financial closes.

  • Produce timely monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports for internal GBS and corporate FP&AQ stakeholders.

  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual Labor and SG&A cost productivity, including the identification of root causes for variations from forecast, plan, and prior year.

  • Coordinate the monthly forecast process by working with GBS department leasers to ensure accurate information around expected headcount changes, controllable expenses, and changes in workflow assumptions that affect forecast accuracy.

  • Maintain forecast information in inSight and generate variation explanations and walk analyses as need for communication with FP&A staff and internally within GBS.

  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reports and that internal control requirements are met around GBS accounting.

  • Provide assistance to the PMO in the development, reconciliation, and distribution of accurate KPI data.

  • Participate in Monthly Operating Review sessions and financial data and variance support for questions that arise.

  • Assist operations managers and supervisors in understanding and interpreting financial reports and their finance and accounting responsibilities.

  • Supports the VP Shared Services and Director of Accounting with financial analysis and reporting, meetings, quarterly business reviews and budget presentations.

  • Participates in New Business Mobilization team meetings and drives introduction and roll out of GBS services in new business opportunities.

  • Assist with weekly labor reporting, including key metrics, exceptions, overtime, and unusual variations.

  • Assist when needed with internal audit support and SOX audits.

  • Manage day-to-day relationship with GBS vendors that support identification and recovery of duplicate supplier payments, unassociated credits, and refunds. Supervise work of staff engaged in using these systems to ensure efficient workflow and timely resolution.

Other Essential Functions - Develops ad hoc reports for GBS internal and Aramark Corporate stakeholders. Provides information for historical, current, and future financial and statistical data. Performs assigned special projects and analysis as needed by Senior Management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 4 years hands-on accounting/finance experience with progressive analytical responsibility required.

  • Ability to research and resolve accounting and financial questions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment and ability to learn quickly.

  • The ability to adapt to new situations and interface with senior management as well as prioritize multiple projects simultaneously is key.

  • Ability to be detailed oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills and will be able to meet established deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and data base software required. Strong EXCEL skills are a must. Oracle experience preferred.
